¶ How to Decipher Franz Hopper's Diary
Requirements:
1.) Active connection to Lyoko.
2.) Lots of energy
¶ Gathering the Team
To prepare, start a mission with everyone in the factory. Deciphering the diary needs Aelita to be constantly in the tower while the others guard it. If Aelita or the other LWs aren't in the factory at the start of the mission, refer to the phone usage guide. After everyone arrives, it's time to virtualize! ¶ Choosing a Waytower
Deciphering the diary needs to be done in a waytower. Waytowers are towers 1 and 10 in every sector (Except Carthage and replikas, they don't have waytowers). When you virtualize/arrive to a waytower you want Aelita to enter it using the “get in (tower)" option in Aelita's comcard.
Inside the tower, have her go to the second floor.
¶ Activating Tower and Energy Collection
To use the tower to our advantage we need to activate it first. Launch the energy transmitter with the transm command.
Now select the waytower you are in like this: transm.to.SECTOR.NUM
Example: transm.to.forest.1
Now all you've got to do is send the energy to the tower with transm.exe. Doing so will send 1000 energy from the supercomputer.
DIARY DECIPHERING NEEDS A LOT OF ENERGY SO MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS HAVE PLENTY.
This can be quickly checked from the terminal window. As long as you have at least 1000 energy you can run transm.exe again to allocate another 1000 energy to the tower.
If you want to send more energy to a tower (which you will have to here) just use transm.exe as many times as you need to.
If you don't have enough energy you can get more by:
- Devirtualizing all overvehicles if there's any (500/vehicle)
- Turning off scanners (1000 energy/scanner; 3000 energy for all)
To turn off scanners, open the scanner window with scanners
Now select any number of scanners you want by either clicking on them or using one of the following commands:scanners.1, scanners.2, scanners.3 or scanners.all
To turn off the selected scanners type scanners.off
Keep in mind to turn the scanners back on when you need them! To do so select the scanners you want to turn on and type scanners.on.
If a LW gets devirtualized when there are no scanners available they will be sent to the frontier.
If that happens, refer to our guide about frontier rescue.
The tower is still protected by it's inhibitors so we need to get rid of that. Type superscan.inhib to open the inhibitors.
To crack it open we need to use the cryptosmasher. To open it type crypto
Launch it with crypto.inhib and wait for it to finish.
When it's done the windows will close. You are ready to start the decipher.
¶ Defending
Now that the tower is set, launch the deciphering on Aelita's comcard.
And from now on, the only thing you need to do is defend the tower from monsters. You can monitor your progress on the deciphering window or on the superscan.
Xana will try to take over your tower. If it occurs it will result in an instant game over meaning you need to start a new custom game.
To prevent it from happening, just send more energy to the tower with transm.exe
After around 85% two things can happen depending on the “Fall rescue” option being toggled on or off:
- If it's off then you have to continue preventing Xana to take it over until it reaches 100% progress (once that's done, have Aelita enter in ‘Code: Lyoko’ to purge XANA's presence)
- If it's on then Franz Hopper will help you out
From here all you've got to do is defend the tower for a few more seconds. Congratulations, you managed to uncover Franz Hopper's secrets!
¶ Pro-Tip:
If “Fall Rescue” is turned on, you don't have to give all your power to the tower during decryption. With some testing, it is found you can give up to 3000 energy to the tower, and XANA will never be able to take over, as by the time it approaches that point, Franz will have taken over and helped you with the rest of the decryption, purging XANA from the tower in the process.
